We are a program of Friendly House Inc. We provide a weekly activity program for LGBTQI senior citizens. We currently host 6-7 activities per month including monthly "socials" at local restaurants in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties, annual holiday open house and summer bbq potluck picnic. movie and games days, a writing group, educational workshops on medical and legal issues as well as field trips to cultural and recreational points of interest.
ERA also provideds diversity trainings for students and professionals in several fields including social, nursing, medical admin., long term and in home care, queer and sex education classes, gerontology and more.
We also host Linfield nursing students who complete their clinical rotations with us, providing visits and in home health assessments as well as reminding seniors about available services they might qualify for such as transportation, free 30 minutes of legal assistance, free tax assistance. For two years now, ERA has provided holiday gifts for over 35 LGBTQI seniors through Friendly House Senior Program Holiday Gift Giving program.
For a limited time, we were able to provide food boxes to 12 + seniors.
